develop more quality experiences for Chinese tourists in this market, in order to encourage the arrival of more quality visitors.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"alt-edited\">The number of international tourists reached 3.5 million in 2016, up 12% compared to the previous year (when growth was already 9.6% in 2015).<\/span> <span class=\"\">It&#8217;s lush nature, its unique landscapes, its peaceful culture and the imagination carried by the famous films of the Lord of the Rings seduce more and more.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"\">New Zealand is still a sparsely populated country.<\/span> <span class=\"\">Its development is rather limited by a population of only 4.4 million inhabitants.<\/span> <span class=\"\">Although the road network is relatively developed and does not present any major problem for tourist traffic, this is not the same for accommodation.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div has revealed that they are spending 28 per cent of their income on average on international travel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"element element-paragraph\">They also intend to spend 10 per cent more on travel in the next 12 months, with New Zealand ranked number seven for the most desired global destination, up 5 places from 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Chinese travelers spent US$3600 ($4900) on average around the world in the past 12 months.<\/p>\n<p class=\"element element-paragraph\">This is slightly below the average spend in New Zealand ($5400) during visits which average 18 days, according to Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment figures.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"en\"><strong><span class=\"\">New Zealand: China is the largest market<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><a Zealand.<\/span> <span class=\"\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nzherald.co.nz\/business\/news\/article.cfm?c_id=3&amp;objectid=11848183\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The New Zealand Department of Business<\/a>, Innovation and Employment said the number of Chinese people increased by 37 percent in the year ending in September.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"\">Tourists from China surpassed British tourists for the first time with more than 10 million New Zealand dollars.<\/span> <span class=\"\">The Chinese spent $ 555 million (USD 458,150,000) during this period compared to rel=\"noopener\">New Zealand\u00a0Tourism<\/a> launched a new trade marketing initiative in China known as the Premium Kiwi Partner (PKP) program. This program continues to adapt to changing market conditions, in particular, the growth of FIT and the increasing importance of online travel agents (OTA\u2019s). Today there are 19 outbound agents and 12 inbound tour operators in the program. Air New Zealand operates seven direct flights between Auckland and Shanghai. Air China, China Eastern, China Southern, Tianjin Airlines, Hainan Airlines and Sichuan Airlines operate flights between Auckland and Christchurch and the Chinese cities of Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Tianjin, Chongqing, Xian, Shenzhen, and Chengdu.<\/p>\n<p>The China Toolkit allows to the New Zealand tourism sector deliver quality experiences to Chinese visitors.
